Our IPPS security officers are a lot more than just a deterrent, they are prepared to deal with anything that is put to them in any given situation, recognising staff, dealing with the general public. They are also trained to deal with medical emergencies, fires, searches, and now the inherent danger of bomb threats.

Vetting Procedures

All the IPPS Security Officers are screened through the following procedures:

• Past ten years employment history
• Police Clearance

Training

All IPPS Security Officers go through the following training:

• 100 Hours induction training and an exam.
  (This only covers security guards, retail security and store detectives)
• Close protection operatives do continual training.
• Key building personnel (contact numbers)
• Fire Alarm Procedures.
• Health and Safety.
• First Aid.
• Premises/ Site Patrols.
• Daily Duties.
• Searching Procedures and Baggage Searches
• RUF = Reasonable use of force/pressure point and restraint procedures.

As to the staff building up their skills they will do a 2 day training course every six months to make sure that they still have the attitude towards everybody and everything that they will come across as well as good manners and politeness
